3:40 – How to Become a Hacker by Eric S. Raymond

4:05 – Xenu Link Sleuth is a freeware Windows applications meant to discover broken links within a web site. It also will run in WINE on Linux. It can be downloaded from SnapFiles here.

4:20 – Back Street Browser is a freeware application for Windows which allows you to downland and save a local copy of a web site to your hard drive. This application will also run in WINE on Linux. It can be downloaded from SnapFiles here.

8:40 – The Levelator is a free cross-platform application that automatically adjusts the levels of a recording making the final audio files very listen-able.

19:55 – arp is a command line command for Windows and Linux that will reveal the MAC addresses of previously cached IPs. In Windows, arp -a is the switch you one. In Linux arp -v

20:18 – ping is a command line command for Windows and Linux that will cache MAC addresses.  The more common use of the ping command is to send ICMP echo requests to network hosts, however this handy command also adds reached IP’s to the system cache which the arp command can be used to retreive the cached MAC addresses.
