    I wanted to set a static IP in #! (Jaunty), but had some difficulty. I read somewhere (can’t remember where) that the secret is to remove network manager. I believe that the problem was that it kept overwriting /etc/network/interfaces.

    I have a howto at my website (I just noticed some spelling errors there- oh well).
